ABOUT THE OWNER:

RAYMOND E. BRAY

You may know Ray from all of the hard work he puts into your lawn. With over 27 years experience, this horticultural expert spends most of his free time reading, researching, and studying new landscape design and maintenance techniques. What you may not know is that he is at the gym daily and is devoted to his lab-mix Indiana and his two cats Dodge and Tanner.

ABOUT THE CREW:

The fabulous hardworking crew of Outdoor Creations Landscape and Design, Inc!

LANDSCAPE LESSON OF THE MONTH: RHIZOCTONIA

Susceptible Turfgrass: Zoysia

Symptoms: Rhizoctonia large patch (zoysia patch) causes rings or patches of blighted turfgrass that measure 5 inches to 10 feet or more in diameter. Patches are brown to yellow in appearance, with a possible "orange firing" at the periphery of the patches. Small reddish-brown colored leaf spots occure of leaf sheaths, stems and stolons. After the leaves die in the blighted area, new leaves can emerge from the surviving crowns.

QUOTES OF THE MONTH:

"Never wear anything that panics the cat."  ~P.J. O'Rourke

"Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone in order to do it."  ~Author Unknown

"If a dog jumps in your lap, it is because he is fond of you; but if a cat does the same thing, it is because your lap is warmer." ~Alfred North Whitehead

PHOBIA OF THE MONTH: Anatidaephobia - a pervasive, irrational fear that one is being watched by a duck. The anatidaephobic individual fears that no matter where they are or what they are doing, a duck watches.
